Intel Capital's Open Source Incubator Program

Transform your Moblin-based innovations into business: Intel® Capital extends the Open Source Incubator Program to software ecosystem development around Mobile Internet Devices. This is a venture funding program for companies that are exploring new business models made possible by the dynamics of open source and open source communities.

As part of the Open Source Incubator Program, Intel® Capital provides early-stage (seed/Series A) funding for the venture, assistance with business plan development, board participation, industry referrals and search services to find key board members and executive staff, technical engagement with Intel's business groups, engagement with Intel's co-marketing programs, opportunities to engage with new customers at Intel Capital Technology Days, and participation in the annual Intel Capital CEO Summit. Intel Capital has a proven track record of helping companies reach new levels of performance through close involvement with and support for our portfolio companies.

In 2008, the Intel Capital Open Source Incubator Program is interested in finding and funding new businesses focusing on the Mobile Internet Device. If you would like your business plan considered for this program, please send a short summary of your proposal to Patrick Walsh, Intel Capital Open Source Incubator Program, email: patrick.walsh@intel.com. We will review all submissions on an ongoing basis and set follow-up meetings to consider those that we think would be good candidates for the program.

Previous investments made by the Intel Capital Open Source Incubator Program include WS02, a web services platform company with primary operations in Sri Lanka; and Revolution Computing, a computational statistics company focusing on parallel computing, based in New Haven, CT.
