Project Categories

The categories that projects will fall into have been modified slightly. This should be a fairly high level top list with additions coming in below as sub-categories. If this does change over time, we'll have to document how to modify the view. I'm hoping that this is set enough that one of these categories won't split, causing all projects tagged as one to be push in either of two directions.

OS Infrastructure

These will be the primary projects from the software architecture diagram and included in the core distro.

Applications

These will be all applications including those in the core distro and those outside of it. It will not include applications that are not open sourced!

Development Tools

These projects are centered around the development environment and building of an image.

Extensions

These are projects intended the OS, but fall outside the core distro.

Community Infrastructure

These are projects related how the community is organized, including the bugzilla set up, moblin.org web site and mailing lists.

Moblin Distro

These are projects for the core distros, including downloads for specific devices.
