Pasteboard Panel
A level up for copy and paste, this stores and manages multiple copied items from your netbook activity.
Access the pasteboard panel via the toolbar, by clicking the pasteboard icon.
The pasteboard is a companion to good keyboard shortcuts, not a replacement. Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V continue to work as expected with the last item selected in the pasteboard.
The pasteboard panel has 3 key areas; at the top is a search bar, underneath is your “copied” data list, and the right-hand side shows key tasks associated with the pasteboard.
The pasteboard search bar allows you search within your pasteboard history/content.
The copied data area is a history of what you have copied or cut. The pasteboard panel automatically adds it to the list, sorted by most recent 'used'. In this case 'used' can mean copied, cut, or pasted. If you've just copied something it appears at the top of the list.
You can browse through the history list to select an older item. When the pasteboard is closed, the last item selected will be promoted to the top position (the default Ctrl+v) and be visible at the top of the list when you return. Alternatively, you can select the 'paste in application' button which adds the object to the top of the stack and closes the list.
The key task area allows you to clear the pasteboard history and copy the currently highlighted text.
The pasteboard resets every time you turn the computer off—it’s not a stone tablet!
