Create a Moblin image for a netbook or MID

Note: These steps describe the process for Moblin v1 using Moblin Image Creator (MIC--first version). Moblin v2 (Feb 2009 and beyond) uses MIC2. Please see the new test drive page.

Moblin is a Linux-based software platform. If you have an Ubuntu (Gutsy 7.10 or Hardy 8.04) or Fedora 9.0 system, building an image for your netbook is straightforward. The steps below will show you how to use Moblin Image Creator and create images for your netbook. You can then place images on a USB pen drive and boot them on your netbook. Live USB images allow you to run the Moblin software platform without modifying your device.

I think you and I both commit the same ERROR

here is how I did
the moblin-image-creator we should run is not the ONE in the moblin git tree BUT the one had been built successful and install into XXX/sbin/

SO maybe you can follow this:
#sudo moblin-image-creator

note:
you can't run the moblin-image-creator in moblin-image-creator

M$ Windows users...

And if you have no access to Linux OS, you can still use the vmware client:
* VMWare Player
and then download and use the Ubuntu images:
* Ubuntu VMWare images
