The following are high level requirements for the Moblin Browser, captured by James and Rusty at the 3rd development sprint.
-
provide "full internet" experience
- mozilla derived browser
- flash
- embedded media playback
- ability to save content to content manager
-
must work in constrained memory environment
- enhancements to data cache management
-
must be optimized for atom processor capabilities
- sse, non branch prediction, 2d accelerated rendering
-
enhanced to leverage platform based touch input
- flick
- touch and zoom
- tap and gesture symantics
-
enhanced to leverage new organic Moblin 2.0 user experience
- live bookmark preview / thumbnail
- dynamic tab presentation
- automatic hardware based resolution transforms (eg 850x500 size web page automatically resized to 800x480)
- investigate: make mozilla render into a clutter actor (similar to clutter-webkit) so that UX can be created using Clutter and so Mozilla can use the Clutter Widgets
