Testing on ASUS 1000HE

Running from a 2Gb USB key (soon to convert to the inbuilt SD card) and everything works - wifi, network, the lot.

Couple of gotchas;

1. When entering the WEP key for the wifi network, the key is displayed in clear text, regardless of whether the "show key" box is ticked.

2. When running Cheese, it elongates the photo vertically slightly, and video is not running at full 30fps.

Minor critisisms, really. Even my 4yo daughter was able to get onto her "The Wiggles" web page with NO INSTRUCTION.

Kudos to the interface designers.

Asus Eee 1000H and Moblin

Hi

I have tested Moblin on Eee 1000H.
And I like it so far.

Wireless network works out of the box.
I have a couple of questions:

1: How to install flash?
2: How to install MP3 codex?

Thx Moblin 4 a good job so far.

Can't wait for the next release!

Same "superblock" problem

On a Lenovo s10e, onto an extended partition - this is from a USB install.

This previously ran the old alpha fine.

I have tried removing and recreating the partitions etc, this is ext3 formatted /.

Acer Aspire one and Moblin

I have tried to install Moblin on my Acer notebook, without any success. I have gone through the install several times and always it comes up with the same problem.

It tells me that the Superblock could not read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else) then the superblock is corrupt.

I have tried to install this from a cd, and it has partioned the drive so that I can still run windows xp.

Any suggestion to solve this would be appreciated.

Best regards from Australia.

Re: Acer Aspire one and Moblin

The fsck failure occurrs because /dev/sda5 is not fully conifgured. Add the following lines to /etc/udev/makedev.d/00-base.files

b /dev/sda5 0660 root root 8 5
b /dev/sda6 0660 root root 8 6
b /dev/sda7 0660 root root 8 7

This worked for me.
